CoBank announced that its board of directors has unanimously approved increasing its annual Sharing Success program to $5 million for 2021 in response to strong customer participation. Sharing Success is a cornerstone of CoBank’s corporate citizenship efforts. The program matches donations—from the bank’s cooperative and other eligible customers—to nonprofit organizations in rural communities. CoBank’s Sharing Success program relies on the local knowledge and expertise of bank customers, who identify organizations and programs that are truly making a different in their neighborhoods. Since the program was established in 2012, CoBank and its customers have together contributed more than $62 million to groups such as volunteer fire departments, local schools, and hunger relief programs.

NW Natural Holding Company has released its second annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report outlining the company’s progress in 2020 on safety, carbon reduction, diversity, community engagement, and governance goals. According to the report, NW Natural saved more than 379,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent and remained on track to meet or exceed NW Natural’s voluntary carbon savings goal of 30% savings from its own operations and customers’ use of its product by 2035, based on 2015 emissions levels. NW Natural also contributed nearly $1 million to community organizations through the NW Natural Corporate Philanthropy Fund, and provided a 100% company match for two employee-giving campaigns, which raised $350,000 for local nonprofits.

Santander Bank announced its charitable commitments for the first half of 2021. Through two grant cycles, The bank has committed $7,590,000 in grants to 240 nonprofit organizations throughout its operating footprint. Santander’s charitable giving is focused on nonprofits that create opportunities for prosperity in three key areas: financial empowerment and workforce development, small business and entrepreneurship, affordable housing and healthy neighborhoods, particularly in low- to moderate-income communities that Santander serves. The Bank’s charitable giving is a pillar of its Inclusive Communities Plan, an $11 billion, five-year commitment of lending, investments, and charitable contributions that began in 2017 and culminates at the end of this year.

Koppers Holdings Inc. announced it has issued its 2020 Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR), detailing the company's progress across three key sustainability pillars: People, Planet, and Performance. Over the course of the year, the company placed considerable emphasis on strengthening its sustainability governance structure and developing strategy-defining goals to drive long-term performance for all its stakeholders. In 2020, despite the challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, Koppers achieved record-setting safety and financial performance while also being honored among America's Most Responsible Companies, a list curated by Newsweek.

In the days immediately following the devastation caused by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake and Tropical Storm Claire, UPS and The UPS Foundation went to work, committing more than $500,000 for food, shelter, medical care, and aid to those who need it most. UPS’s work in Haiti is a collaborative effort that includes nonprofit partners, UPS Healthcare, Freight Forwarding, and Coyote Logistics. Specifically, The UPS Foundation has coordinated three emergency relief flights through UPS Global Freight Forwarding. Combined, more than 1,000 hygiene kits; 3,000 blankets; 2,000 mosquito nets; 65 pallets and flatbeds containing food, water, medical supplies, PPE, mobile clinic kits, tents, mattresses, cots, and other critical supplies will be delivered.
