Byna Elliott, senior vice president, chief enterprise responsibility officer at Fifth Third Bank, received personal congratulations from CEO Greg D. Carmichael for her continuous commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities. "On October 29, we gathered over 1,300 community partners and friends for a virtual celebration of Fifth Third Bank’s Community Commitment," said Carmichael. "Thank you Byna Elliott for your continuous commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities. Under your leadership, we have surpassed our goals, with already $38.3 billion at the end of September—and still counting."

Jamie Grasso, director, corporate citizenship at Paylocity, celebrated her company's racial and ethnic diversity ERG, OneWorld, hosting its third DocuClub event, centered on Kimberle Crenshaw's Ted Talk, The Urgency of Intersectionality. "Some of the themes that came out of our very authentic and vulnerable conversation was authenticity of self, transparency, and education. As I reflect on those themes and our dialogue, I can't help but look at how uniquely interwoven they are," said Grasso. "I am proud of the work that our ERG's are doing every day to ensure that we are looking at the whole picture, ensuring that our employees can truly bring their authentic selves to work."

Joe Ruiz, director of humanitarian relief and resilience at the UPS Foundation, spoke on the webinar "The Hunger Crisis: Fighting Food Insecurity in a Pandemic." The webinar was organized by the UN World Food Programme, featuring its 2020 Nobel Peace Prize-winning efforts.

Wells Fargo & Company announced that Kleber Santos will join the company on Nov. 9 as head of the newly created Diverse Segments, Representation and Inclusion group, elevating the company’s internal and external diversity efforts. He will report to CEO Charlie Scharf and serve on the company’s Operating Committee. “Kleber brings a unique set of leadership and business skills that, combined with his experiences driving diversity and inclusion outcomes, will enable us to drive meaningful change throughout the organization and better serve our diverse customer base and underserved communities,” Scharf said. The creation of this elevated role was one of several key initiatives Scharf announced in June 2020 as part of the company’s expanded commitments to diversity and inclusion.

AllianceBernstein is hiring a Director of Corporate Responsibility in New York, NY, to play a key role in strategy, daily management, and support of corporate responsibility.

Bank of the West is looking for a Corporate Social Responsibility Vice President, Strategy & Operations in San Francisco, CA, to support the strategic planning and program implementation within the CSR function.

Blackbaud is seeking a remote Sales Executive, Corporate Social Responsibility, offered in various locations, to be a YourCause product evangelist, committed to creating relationships, designing solutions with corporations, and building the Global Good Network.

Edelman is looking for an Assistant Account Executive, Corporate Social Responsibility in San Francisco, CA, who will play a key role on the Business + Social Purpose team, which focuses on CSR communications strategy, planning, reporting, engagement, outreach and new business development.

Walgreens is hiring a Senior Manager, Global Corporate Social Responsibility Communications in Deerfield, IL, to develop and execute creative promotional and public relations strategies for the Company’s CSR initiatives.

Banco Popular was awarded one of the 2020 American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation Community Commitment Awards. Banco Popular, San Juan, Puerto Rico was awarded it for its Finanzas en Tus Manos (Finances in Your Hands) program which since 2010 has improved the financial well-being of individuals and businesses throughout Puerto Rico. Focused on providing best practices for developing savings habits and personal financial management, this program from Banco Popular empowers customers and the community to take charge of their own financial awareness with the help of the experts at the bank. Workshops on budgeting, fraud prevention, and more continue to positively impact the economic health of Puerto Rican communities across the archipelago.

The Hilton Effect Foundation announced its 2020 Hilton Effect grantees, which include community-based organizations playing a direct role in COVID-19 pandemic recovery efforts. Through these grants and donations already made by the Foundation, which serves as Hilton’s primary philanthropic arm, the Foundation has now awarded more than $1 million dollars in COVID-19 community response efforts. “A core part of the Hilton Effect Foundation’s work is to support our communities around the world through both good times and bad,” said Kate Mikesell, president, Hilton Effect Foundation. “From the very start of the pandemic, we have been listening to community leaders about the direct and indirect challenges they are facing as a result of COVID-19. Based on their feedback, we have focused our grants on driving inclusive recovery and strengthening community resiliency.”

Kohl’s and its partners are working together to provide resources for families through the COVID-19 crisis. Because the impacts of COVID-19 have presented a new set of challenges for today’s parents as they care for the total well-being of their families throughout the school year and holiday season, Kohl’s is partnering with the following organizations to develop and implement critical programming aimed at improving the physical and emotional well-being of children and families: Feeling Healthy at Home, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Children’s Wisconsin.
