Cox Enterprises announced that they have tapped Ira G. Pearl to assume the role of vice president of environmental sustainability. In this role, he will lead Cox’s efforts to tackle sustainability challenges while driving its goals to achieve zero waste to landfill by 2024 and become water and carbon neutral by 2044.

Abby Johnson, chairman and CEO at Fidelity Investmentsannounced on LinkedIn that her company is increasing hiring plans by adding 2,000 new positions across Fidelity’s U.S. locations, in roles such as financial consultants, licensed phone representatives, and software engineers. "We can do this at a time when others may be cutting back because Fidelity is on solid footing, both financially and operationally," said Johnson. "Our immediate and ongoing focus is the health and safety of our customers and associates. At the same time, we are investing in our businesses to put us in a position of strength—on behalf of our associates, customers, and communities—for when we come out of this crisis."

Weil, Gotshal & Manges' Global Director of Diversity & Inclusion Meredith Moore and Chief Business Development & Communications Officer Robert Lennon recently spoke with The Legal 500’s fivehundred magazine. They discussed how Weil transformed its approach to diversity in client pitch activity with measurable results, including a 69.4% increase in participation by women partners in client pitches.

Make-A-Wish has received a donation of more than $2.8 million from Subaru of America, Inc. through the 2019 Subaru Share the Love Event. Subaru donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to customers' choice of four participating national charities, including Make-A-Wish, or one of the retailer's selected hometown charities.

Philip Morris International (PMI) was selected as a finalist for the SABRE Award for Superior Achievement in Reputation Management, in recognition of its Global EQUAL-SALARY certification, which has elevated the debate on gender equality and equal pay.

Finally, our member companies appeared prominently among the annual Top Global Champions for Supplier Diversity & Inclusion in recognition for corporations that lead with global inclusive sourcing efforts. The top ten companies recognized and honorable mentions included Accenture, Dow, EY, General Mills, and Merck. The survey, conducted jointly by Disability:IN, NGLCC, USPAACC, and WEConnect International, includes questions on U.S. and non-U.S. diverse spend for all officially recognized diverse suppliers.
