Hypertherm announced the signing of two public pledges in support of its commitment to inclusion and diversity. The company joined the Pledge for Action, sponsored by the National Association of Manufacturers, focused on increasing equity and parity for underrepresented communities in the United States. Also, Hypertherm President and CEO Evan Smith is joining nearly 2,000 CEOs in signing the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge.
Lowe’s home improvement and the Lowe’s Foundation have committed to investing $3 million in a three-year project with Renaissance West Community Initiative, a Charlotte-based nonprofit group, to create a training center, digital and financial literacy programs, and help with revitalization projects in a historically underserved and marginalized area of the city.
LyondellBasell is donating $100,000 to the U.S. India Friendship Alliance, helping the organization provide 250 oxygen concentrators to hospitals and medical facilities across India. Amid the country’s COVID-19 crisis, patients are in serious need of oxygen with demand increasing every day.
Raytheon Technologies is retrofitting OxyTruck mobile oxygen filling stations—produced by its Collins Aerospace unit in Lübeck, Germany—to help with the COVID-19 crisis in India. The trucks, each of which can transport approximately 270,000 liters of much-needed oxygen, are expected to be delivered to the Indian Red Cross Society. Raytheon Technologies and its businesses have donated 1.2 million pieces of personal protective equipment, funding for 1,000 oxygen concentrators, and are making financial contributions to local relief organizations. The company is also matching employee donations to numerous nonprofits supporting COVID-19 relief efforts in India.
