Vivian Greentree, senior vice president, head of global corporate citizenship at Fiserv, celebrated the latest meeting of the Corporate Roundtable in Support of Military Families and Veterans on LinkedIn. Lucy Ring, chair of the gender diversity committee at Janus Henderson Investors, shared her thoughts on why it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day. "It is important to acknowledge that there is still much to do to achieve gender equality in leadership and teams across industries," said Ring. "International Women's Day should be a reminder that we're all accountable for the diversity in our teams and the inclusive culture we should be striving for."

Beth Spurgeon has joined Wells Fargo as senior vice president, head of ESG integration. "I'm thrilled to announce that I have joined the Social Impact and Sustainability team at Wells Fargo to drive the company’s ESG integration activities," said Spurgeon. "It is an exciting time in the sustainability and ESG world, and I’m proud to be on the journey with this great company!"

FedEx has announced that it plans to achieve carbon–neutral operations globally by 2040.  To help reach this goal, FedEx is designating more than $2 billion of initial investment in three key areas: vehicle electrification, sustainable energy, and carbon sequestration. This includes a pledge of $100 million to Yale University to help establish the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture, accelerating research into methods of carbon sequestration at scale.

Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) announced the fourth round of recipients of the joint “Healthy Relationships Community Grant” program. The current distribution marks nearly $2 million donated to 40 organizations as part of seven donation phases through 2021. The focus areas for grants include support for survivors of domestic violence, mental health resiliency, and developing positive relationship skills in youth as a preventive measure to breaking the cycle of violence. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply for future grants at MLB.com/HealthyRelationships.

Merck announced a fifth round of grants in its Merck for Mothers Global Grants program dedicated to reducing maternal mortality in locations where there is the greatest need. Merck for Mothers, the company’s global initiative launched in 2011 to help create a world where no woman has to die while giving life, supports the corporate grant program which enables Merck offices around the world to aid nongovernmental organizations that are improving maternal health.

TD Bank recently released its 2020 Environmental, Social, and Governance Report, which outlines how the bank accelerated its efforts, elevated its contributions, and enhanced its oversight and measurement of ESG practices. The supplemental TD Ready Commitment Report also highlights the progress and impact TD has achieved through its corporate citizenship platform with a focus on financial health, social inclusion, equitable health outcomes and the environment to create the conditions for everyone to succeed in an ever-changing world. Together, these reports demonstrate how the Bank is fulfilling its promise – to enrich the lives of our customers, communities and colleagues.
