In recent years, extreme weather events and escalating social tensions have destabilized many American communities, with 2017 being one of the costliest on record. In 2016, Wells Fargo—one of the largest corporate cash contributors to nonprofit organizations in the United States—expanded its philanthropic focus areas to include community resilience. To kick of this year’s Corporate Citizenship Film Festival, leaders at Wells Fargo will share how they are helping communities create stories for years to come by investing in preparedness and recovery now. There, Jimmie Paschall, executive vice president, enterprise diversity & inclusion and strategic philanthropy; and Stephanie Rico, senior vice president and Environmental Affairs business initiatives manager at Wells Fargo, will discuss how their company is working to help communities mitigate and perhaps even avoid the impacts of climate-related natural disasters and incidents of social unrest.
