Module 1: Introduction and Inclusion and Diversity Context

  • Describe key trends and issues in inclusion and diversity and the role of corporate citizenship professionals in promoting I&D goals
  • Activity: Check your knowledge of key trends and issues in inclusion and diversity

Module 2: Diversity in All Forms

  • Identify elements of diversity using best-in-class examples of how to implement programs and policies to support I&D at your company
  • Activity: Reflect on I&D at your organization

Module 3: Planning for I&D Success

  • Create a vision for I&D success at your company using a tool called back-casting
  • Activity: Create an I&D statement

Module 4: Star Model

  • Use a tool called the Star Model to organize operating principles to put your I&D vision into action
  • Activity: Diagnose the current state of I&D at your company using the Star Model

Module 5: I&D Plan

  • Learn how to create an I&D plan and put it into action using SMART goals
  • Activity: Review your I&D plan goals and make them SMART

Module 6: Motivation

  • Learn the basics of employee motivation and how they relate to your I&D goals and plan
  • Activity: Map I&D benefits across functional roles at your company

Module 7: Inclusion and Diversity Activities

  • Describe how to align your corporate citizenship programs with company I&D activities using best-in-class company examples as a guide
  • Activity: Brainstorm how to start I&D conversations across departments

Module 8: Unconscious Bias

  • Explain different types of unconscious bias and how they manifest in our daily lives
  • Activity: Check your own bias

Module 9: Measuring I&D

  • Define different mechanisms to measure inclusion and diversity—including measuring outputs and outcomes and choosing indicators to measure your progress
  • Activity: List indicators to measure inclusive environments and reflect on how you could gather data to measure success of your programs
