Carolina Pizarro, strategy cyber risk - senior manager, Deloitte Chile, was named as "Top 50 Women in Cybersecurity in Latina America" by WOMCY Women in Cybersecurity.

Dow announced that Gaurdie Banister Jr. has been elected to Dow's Board of Directors. Mr. Banister will serve on the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Technology and the Compensation and Leadership Development committees of Dow’s board. His appointment further strengthens the industry leadership and diversity of Dow’s Board of Directors, whose composition ranks in the top quartile for ethnic diversity among both industry peers and its proxy peer group. “Throughout his 35 years of executive management and oversight responsibilities, Gaurdie has distinguished himself as an international business leader and a catalyst for value creation,” said Jim Fitterling, Dow chairman and CEO. “We look forward to benefiting from his wealth of knowledge and expertise.”

Congratulations to Karem Perez for starting a new position as executive director, Motorola Solutions Foundation at Motorola Solutions.

The Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee, has gifted Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center with $1.66 million to permanently endow the Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Scholars program. The program enhances access and support for young, underrepresented minority women interested in pursuing careers in medicine and biomedical research. “The Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund was created to uplift and strengthen the lives of young women,” said Heidi Jark, senior vice president and managing director, Foundation Office at Fifth Third Bank. “We are proud to support this program, as it provides women with the knowledge and skills that they need to be successful in the STEM and biomedical research industries.”

JetBlue announced it has followed through on its commitment to go carbon neutral on all domestic flights. Earlier this year, JetBlue became the first major U.S. airline to commit to this critical and measurable step toward reducing its contribution to global warming, and is now the first U.S. airline to achieve carbon neutrality on all domestic flying. “The global pandemic reinforces the need to mitigate risks that threaten the health of our business,” said Joanna Geraghty, president and chief operating officer, JetBlue. “Our commitment to sustainability has only become more important as we prepare our business for a new climate reality.”

In celebration of the American Wind Energy Association's American Wind Week, Geronimo Energy, a National Grid company, announced that it has established a local charitable giving board, named the Crocker Community Fund Board, for the benefit of the communities connected to the Crocker Wind Farm, a wind energy project located in Clark County, SD.  “We are a community-focused and farmer-friendly company, and our Community Funds are at the heart of this value system,” said David Reamer, president for Geronimo Energy.

Visions Federal Credit Union was awarded at the Central New York Business Journal Nonprofit Awards for Corporate Community Support. The company celebrated the honor on Twitter, sharing, "Visions is about people, not profits. Giving back is what we do, and we are proud to support countless causes in the communities we serve." Every year, Visions Cares donates over $1 million to their communities' causes and organizations, and Visions FCU also employs grants, sponsorships, donations in kind, and employee giveback programs to encourage community involvement and support.
