Spotlight on You

Beth Spurgeon, division manager of corporate responsibility, Americas, at ArcelorMittalexpressed her gratitude for the ongoing efforts of the company’s nonprofit partners to support STEM education in a time of increased remote learning. She shared ArcelorMittal’s post providing children and parents with resources for STEM learning at home. “I'm amazed by the social impact of ArcelorMittal USA's STEM and environmental nonprofit partners continue to make virtually during COVID-19,” she said. “Thanks for all you do for our communities! These resources are great for kids and parents alike.”

Catherine McGlown, corporate responsibility lead at Humanashared the good news that her company jumped 17 spots on the DiversityInc list of Top 50 Companies for Diversity. "The list honors leadership in such areas as hiring, retaining, and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBTQ, and veterans," said McGlown. "Humana rose to No. 25 on the list, up from No. 42 last year."

Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is hiring a Corporate Social Responsibility Intern in Boston, MA, to provide CSR communications support and contribute to its CSR strategy development.

Apple Inc. is hiring an Environmental Program Manager and Environment, Health and Safety Lead in Cupertino, CA, to provide support at Apple Park, Apple's corporate headquarters.

Applied Materials is seeking a Director, ESG/Corporate Sustainability Programs and Reporting in Santa Clara, CA, to join the Corporate Legal Affairs team and Corporate Secretary’s office in a newly created role.

Axxess is looking for a Corporate Citizenship Coordinator in Dallas, TX to assist in the company’s efforts to be a model of a socially responsible member of its community.

Ball Corporation is expanding its diversity and inclusion team by hiring a Manager, Diversity & Inclusion Operations and Coordinator, Diversity & Inclusion, both located in Broomfield, CO.

CommScope is looking for a Product Sustainability Manager in Horsham, PA, to minimize the environmental impacts of its products while leveraging product sustainability concepts to deliver benefit for the company and its customers.

Guidehouse is hiring an Inclusion & Diversity Program Associate in McLean, VA, support program and management activities of the firm’s Inclusion & Diversity strategy. The company is also seeking an Associate Director Energy Sustainability & Infrastructure in Washington, DC, to coordinate research and development of new modeling platforms for analyzing and forecasting market behavior.

Humana is hiring a Diversity and Inclusion Lead in Louisville, KY, to develop, implement, and evaluate diversity/equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action programs. 

ICF is looking for a Climate Change and Sustainability Researcher in Washington, DC, to support the company's climate, energy efficiency, and transportation lines of business.

John Hancock is looking for a Director, Diversity and Inclusion, US in Boston to operationalize the company's global D&I strategy for their US Division.

Lockheed Martin is hiring a Manager, Social Impact Programs in Bethesda, MD, to develop stakeholder engagements and partnerships.

This week we celebrated #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5, 2020, a new global day of giving—in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday—that serves as an emergency response to the unmet needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The movement saw participation from corporate givers across sectors, including AstraZenecaBank of AmericaCitrixCoast Capital SavingsLam ResearchMLBPwC, and many, many more.

Philip Morris International (PMI) released its Sustainability Materiality Report, which defines the company’s sustainable priorities. To keep pace with the evolving expectations of stakeholders, PMI refreshed its sustainability materiality assessment at the end of 2019 in an effort to refine the development of its 2025 sustainability strategy. This led to a refinement of the company’s four key pillars to include innovating for better products, operating with excellence, caring for the people the company works with, and protecting the environment.

Regeneron released its 2019 Corporate Responsibility Report, which introduces the company's new global goals and highlights its progress in addressing the most pressing issues for its business and society. The report includes new environmental targets to help protect and restore the planet in areas of water, waste, energy, and emissions.

Wells Fargo announced that its banks have received a rating of “Outstanding” in its most recent Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Performance Evaluation. The rating, which covers the years 2012-2018, reflects Wells Fargo’s strong performance on the exam’s components and the company’s commitment to serving low- to moderate-income communities.
