Spotlight on You

Adam Shalapin, global sustainability manager at Ball Corporation, was featured by Duke Energy for his efforts to help his company cut its carbon emissions with wind power. “When you look at the reports coming from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change about the rate at which we’re warming and how much time we have to turn this ship around – it’s not much,” Shalapin said. “This is an opportunity to address the carbon footprint associated with our products and make an impact in the world quickly.”

Geoffrey Castro, program manager of Community Relations at CenterPoint Energy, was featured in the Houston Business Journal for his company's community investment initiatives. "Through strategic community investment, a company can enhance its brand, improve performance, support its license to operate, and increase employee engagement," said Castro. "Simply put, there’s more at stake for corporations than philanthropic dollars and the number of volunteer hours reported out each year."
