Sophia Yen, principal, insurance strategy and innovation leader at EY, penned a call to action for the business case for inclusion and diversity in the workplace, acknowledging how appreciative she is to work at one of the best firms for working moms that empowers women leaders. “The business case for moving more women into leadership posts is clear,” said Yen. “Sameness perpetuates sameness — in ideas as well as business performance.”
Join La Shanda Hurst, business program manager, employee giving, at Microsoft Philanthropies in celebrating the company's recent STEM event, where nearly 600 students from underrepresented backgrounds visited Microsoft to learn about careers in technology.
Erin Haberman has been promoted to senior director, community relations, Travelers, and second vice president, Travelers Foundation. Erin will continue to manage giving and employee volunteerism in Connecticut and to lead Travelers' community resilience and safety work. Congratulations, Erin!

AstraZeneca will extend funding for its award-winning Young Health Programme for a further five years with a pledge of $35m to help to educate young people on the steps they can take to reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases. “The Young Health Programme is AstraZeneca’s key philanthropic initiative that has already reached more than three million young people across the world," said Marc Dunoyer, chief financial officer. "I’m proud to say that this extra funding will see the programme expand into Thailand, Egypt, Colombia, and beyond, and reach a further five million young people by 2025.” Read about the program in the Corporate Citizen magazine.
