Spotlight on You
Sebastian White, director of corporate communications at JetBlue, celebrated the company’s “Fly Like a Girl” campaign event at Boston’s Logan International Airport, which welcomed young girls to an air hangar tour led by women pilots. “A great program to encourage more young women to consider careers in aviation!” he said.
ON Semiconductor’s Ali Husain observed the presentation for the award for IEEE Empower a Billion Lives (EBL) global finals, which the company sponsored. The competition tasked innovators of all backgrounds to identify and promote solutions to energy poverty. “Thanks to Empower a Billion Lives, the movement to end energy poverty is now reaching communities across the globe with sustainable clean energy,” Husain said.
Chris Crane, CEO of Exelon, announced that the Exelon Foundation and Exelon Corp. have launched a $20 million climate change investment initiative to fund startups in six major cities. “The Exelon Foundation Climate Change Investment Initiative will put us a step closer to a clean energy future by helping entrepreneurs translate their ideas for reversing climate change into practical solutions,” said Crane.
