Patricia Contreras, director, global community relations and contributions at Rockwell Automation, celebrated her company's collaboration with Milwaukee Public Schools and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee as a new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) Center was unveiled. "Today's announcement meant so much to so many but what it embodies for me is showing our students they matter, they belong and they are loved," said Contreras. "I'm inspired by our youth who through their resiliency demonstrate creativity and innovation.”
Tom Crohan of John Hancock was promoted to vice president & counsel, corporate responsibility & government relations, leading the company’s corporate responsibility group, which includes sustainability, community investments, and employee engagement initiatives.

Disney Conservation Fund has awarded $6 million in grants to 80 nonprofit organizations working to save wildlife, inspire action, and protect the planet. “These Disney award recipients represent a global community dedicated to ensuring a world where people and wildlife thrive together,” said Elissa Margolis, senior vice president, enterprise social responsibility, The Walt Disney Company. “The Disney Conservation Fund provides not only the opportunity to support these meaningful efforts, but also celebrate them as a point of hope that inspires our audiences around the world.”
Merck published its Corporate Responsibility Report with a focus on their dedication to long-term sustainability for business and society. "We have been committed to our mission of saving and improving lives for nearly 130 years," says Chairman and CEO Kenneth C. Frazier. "Over that time, we have been responsible for some of the most significant scientific advancements and improvements in public health."
Shopify launched its new Sustainability Fund, committing to spending at least $5 million annually to fight for our environment. “Commerce is a powerful vehicle for change. Using the market forces of supply and demand to further worthy causes is one of the most potent recipes for progress,” said Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke. “We can apply this thinking to even the world’s greatest problems, like climate change.”
Target has donated $250,000 to University of Minnesota to boost cybersecurity program. Of the collaboration with the University's College of Science and Engineering, Rich Agostino, chief information security officer at Target said, "Of course I’ll be happy if we get a bunch of energetic, smart students from the U to work here at Target, but really the bigger mission is inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity leaders." Viacom put a spotlight on its diverse executives and talent for its Inclusion Week event. “Inclusion Week gives us an opportunity to showcase programming that creates ‘aha’ moments and that stretches the thinking of employees, that gets them more grounded in the issues du jour,” says Viacom Executive Vice President of Global Inclusion Strategy Marva Smalls. “It’s also a reminder that you can’t just have diversity, you also have to have inclusion, and ultimately Inclusion Week will help to further cement the sense of belonging we hope that employees have here at Viacom.”
