Sherri Bacys St Pierre, DNP, CNP, PPCNP-BC, is an accomplished pediatric nurse practitioner and nursing educator with more than three decades of clinical and academic experience. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Boston College in 2020, a Master of Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1995, and a Bachelorof Science in Nursing from Simmons College in 1989. Board-certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC through 2026, she also holds a Post-Master’s Certificate in Teaching Nursing Education from Boston College.
Dr. St Pierre currently serves as Associate Professor of the Practice at Boston College’s William F. Connell School of Nursing, where she has been a faculty member since 2003 and is again the Pediatric Program Director, a role she previously held from 2010 to2022. Her earlier academic appointments include teaching positions at Worcester State University, Northeastern University, and Fitchburg State College. Clinically, she has maintained an active role as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Tri River Health Family Health Center in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, since 1996, and has also worked at the Department of Youth Services, primary care, and pediatric emergency settings.
Her professional recognition includes the 2024 Exceptional Preceptor Award from the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (MCNP), Distinguished Excellence in Clinical Education from Boston College in 2021, and selection as Faculty Marshal for Boston College commencement ceremonies in both 2016 and 2023.
She is an elected board member and regional director for MCNP, a long-standing member of Sigma Theta Tau International with governance leadership experience, and an active participant in national organizations such as the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, the Children’s Advocacy Network at Boston Children’s Hospital, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Dr. St Pierre’s scholarly contributions include co-authoring the sixth edition of Manual of Ambulatory Pediatrics and leading a Doctor of Nursing Practice project examining the feasibility of graduate nursing students self-reporting COVID-19 symptoms. She has presented widely on nurse practitioner education and practice, including sessions on preceptorship and professional issues in Massachusetts. At Boston College she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses ranging from pediatric clinical education to advanced health assessment, pharmacology, and evidence-based practice, while also advising and mentoring students and promoting inclusive teaching strategies.
In addition, she provides curriculum and peer review for universities and professional journals and serves on key school and university committees, including the Boston College Provost’s Advisory Council.
