Fulton Debate qualifies for the 77th National Debate Tournament
Louis Gleason IV ’23 and Christopher Cheek ’25 qualified to attend the 77th National Debate Tournament (NDT), which will be hosted by Wake Forest University during March 30-April 3, 2023.

On May 7, 2021, the Fulton Debating Society held the 129th annual Fulton Prize Debate in Gasson 305 and on Zoom. The students debated in Gasson 305 while the judges and guests viewed the debate on zoom. In a 5-1 decision, the judges voted for the affirmative and awarded the Fulton Medal (for top speaker) to Anderson Zhang.

This debate was a make-up for last year’s debate, which was cancelled, due to the outbreak of the COVID
pandemic.
The topic for the debate was, “Resolved: The United States should adopt a constitutional amendment to
require term limits for justices of the Supreme Court.”
Fulton Debate advances to the octo-finals at ADA Fall Championship
Boston College reached the octo-finals in the Junior Varsity division of the ADA Fall Championship Tournament hosted by Wake Forest and held on-line during November 13-15, 2020.

Over the weekend of 9-11 October 2020, Fulton Debate competed in its first on-line debate tournament hosted by the University of Mary Washington.
Twenty-five schools participated in the tournament. A partial list of schools debating at the tournament included Cornell, Emory, Georgetown, George Mason, Gonzaga, Navy, the University of Georgia, the University of Michigan, and the University of Minnesota.
Fulton Debate reaches semi-finals at ADA Nationals
Boston College advanced to the semi-finals in novice at the American Debate Association’s National Tournament held at the University of Las Vegas during March 6-8, 2020.
A partial list of teams competing at the tournament included Dartmouth, Emory, Harvard, Indiana University, University of Michigan, and Wake Forest.
Fulton Debate advances to quarter finals at US Naval Academy Tournament
Boston College began the new semester in a successful way by reaching the quarter-finals in novice at the 61st annual Crowe-Warken Debate Tournament held at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland during 18-20 January 2020.
