AQIQ: Air Quality Meets Intelligence

Through leveraging sensor technologies, AQIQ makes indoor air quality data more accessible to both researchers and the general public. By integrating statistical analysis and machine learning, we provide users with an interactive website that displays key air quality indicators, while offering researchers valuable data to advance the state of indoor air quality research.
ColdSnappers: Automated Ice Cream Vending Machine

We designed a fully automated vending machine that integrates ColdSnap’s ice cream making technology, ensuring a user friendly, energy efficient, and reliable dispensing process. By optimizing system timing, minimizing errors, and enhancing customer interaction, the vending machine will provide a convenient, high-quality experience while maintaining sustainability and efficiency.
Ep-Up: A Discrete Epinephrine Delivery System

Many severe allergy sufferers do not carry lifesaving epinephrine delivery devices due to the stigma and inconvenience associated with these devices. Our group developed a wearable intranasal epinephrine delivery device that is a convenient, discrete alternative to a conventional epinephrine auto injector.
Marine Multispectral Monitoring

We developed a low-cost, underwater multispectral camera system to monitor eelgrass health in Maine, addressing the need for accurate and efficient data collection to support conservation efforts. The system uses a Raspberry Pi 4 and interchangeable filters to capture key seagrass health indicators at various wavelengths, with a waterproof capsule designed for durability and stability in various deployment conditions.
Systematic Parallel Processing of Point of Use Ceramic Water Filters

The United Nations states that having access to potable water is a basic human right, but there are many people, many of which are in the Global South do not have access to clean water. We designed a ceramic water filter bank for families in Ghana to provide clean water for household use more efficiently through parallel processing to help meet the UN’s sustainable development goal for clean water and sanitation.
WaterLogged: Building a Localized Rain Gauge Network for Community Science

Rainfall data is essential for climate modeling, flood prediction, and infrastructure design, yet much of the nation’s current data collection is conducted manually and without the spatial coverage to measure hyper-local variations. Our team designed a low-cost, automated rain gauge with the capacity to expand the National Weather Service’s current gauge network while inspiring future community scientists.
