Why is BC using LinkedIn Learning?

The BC community can learn about a wide range of software, technology, business, and creative topics any time and any place (with a network connection, of course) using LinkedIn Learning. Learn more about something you’re passionate about. Learn something new. And do so when it’s convenient for you.

LinkedIn Learning is easy to use and customize, and is tied into BC’s single sign-on, which means you don’t have to create and remember yet another ID and password.

For Students

Acquire technology and business skills

Use LinkedIn learning videos and content to supplement classwork

Develop professional skills that employers seek

For Faculty

Supplement class materials with LinkedIn Learning content

Create and share LinkedIn Learning content with your students with links in Canvas

Integrate classroom technology into your classroom

For Staff

Explore new technology

Upgrade your technology skills

Enhance your people, professional, and management skills

How do I access LinkedIn Learning?

You can use a web browser or mobile device.

Sign in with your LinkedIn credentials. If you have connected your LinkedIn Learning account to your BC account, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your BC credentials.

Who has access to LinkedIn Learning at BC?

All faculty, staff, and students.

Do I need a LinkedIn Profile to use LinkedIn Learning?

No. You can sign in with your BC credentials. If you want to link your existing LinkedIn profile to your BC LinkedIn Learning, you can.

How do I see what I’ve completed?

Access the courses or learning paths you've completed from your Learning History page:

  1. Click your profile picture in the upper right corner of your LinkedIn Learning homepage.
  2. Click Learning History from the dropdown.

What can my LinkedIn Network see about my learning activity?

Whatever you want them to. You can:

Add completed courses to your profile.

Share courses with your LinkedIn network.

Keep your progress private.

Can others see the content that I have been completing on LinkedIn Learning?

Other users and your LinkedIn connections will not be able to see what you have viewed, unless you choose to share it on your LinkedIn profile.

Administrative users at BC can access and retain the following information:

Learning activity, such as courses viewed or completed

Profile information, such as your name, work title, and profile photo

Any courses from your personal account that you've transferred to your group account

LinkedIn will not give your organization access to private activity from your personal LinkedIn account, such as:

Your connections

Your private messages

Any job search activity, such as job posts you've viewed

Any learning courses you've viewed in your personal account

BC LinkedIn Learning Administrators may review data about popular courses, skills, or employee needs, but are not interested in tracking your individual activity.

Can I assign courses to others or upload my own content to LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning users have different roles.

By default, all students, faculty, and staff are Learners, and cannot assign courses to others.

Curators can create learning paths to share with others.

Anyone can share links to content available on LinkedIn Learning.

Where can I get help with LinkedIn Learning?

You can use the LinkedIn Learning help center for assistance related to:

Trouble with logging in

Using the LinkedIn Learning library

Switching between Learning accounts

What happens when I leave BC?

Graduating students will lose access to LinkedIn Learning using the BC credentials sometime in June after graduating.

Faculty and staff will lose access to LinkedIn Learning shortly after leaving BC.

Any LinkedIn Learning courses you list as completed on your LinkedIn profile will still display even after leaving BC.
