The Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society brings together all members of our campus community to address society’s most challenging problems, particularly in the areas of energy, health, and the environment. Through interdisciplinary scholarship, initiatives, courses, and events, we enhance Boston College’s rich history of working across disciplines to develop new knowledge that makes a real-world impact.
Program & Initiative Spotlight
Next Teaching to Inspire Changemakers Presentation is Wednesday Mar 25
During the 2025-2026 school year, the CTE is partnering with the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society to feature faculty reflections on “Teaching to Inspire Changemakers.” Addressing student desires to “make a difference” and to affect change in society, industry, and scholarship, faculty in a variety of disciplines will discuss how they aim to prepare students to: 1) draw on disciplinary methods and expertise to articulate and better understand the context and substance of the challenges they are seeking to address; and 2) discover how they can harness that expertise to be agents of meaningful change.
Join us for Heather Olins' (Biology): Teaching Climate Change Through an Empowerment Lens: Lessons Learned on Wednesday, March 25 from 12pm - 1:15pm in the Schiller Institute Convening Space (Rm 501).
