The Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship Film Festival celebrates the work and impact of corporate citizenship programs—as well as the inspiring methods companies use to communicate their efforts. The winners will be honored at a formal ceremony at the 2020 International Corporate Citizenship Conference.

ELIGIBILITY—All companies are eligible to participate regardless of size or location, including both members and nonmembers of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship*. Entry for Center members is FREE; the entry fee for nonmembers is $1,500.

* We ask that companies submit just one entry apiece; if you work at a subsidiary, please reach out to for clarification regarding your entry, so as to ensure your video is categorized appropriately. PR firms may submit multiple entries, but only one video per company.

LENGTH AND FILE FORMAT—Films are required to be less than three minutes in length and submitted in one of the following formats: .AVI, .FLV, .MP4, .MPG, .MOV, .FLV, .WMV

CATEGORIES—Winners are awarded in the following categories:

  • Small Company (1 - 5,000 employees**)
  • Medium Company (5,000 - 30,000 employees**)
  • Large Company (30,000+ employees**)
  • Fan Favorite
  • Best in Show

** We define employee as a person your company employs for wages or salary; this includes Full-Time employees, Part-Time employees, Temporary employees, and Independent Contractors or Freelancers.

PUBLIC VOTING—Three finalists in each company size category are determined by public voting. Open to the general public, voting will take place online through the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship website. Public voting, designed to encourage employee engagement and idea spreading, will also determine the Fan Favorite winner. Note: Beginning with the 2020 Film Festival, a company cannot win Fan Favorite two years in a row, but will still be eligible for all other award categories. In the event that the previous year’s Fan Favorite winner receives the most public votes, the Fan Favorite award will be given to the company receiving the second-most public votes.

JUDGING—Following the public voting, a panel of industry experts will review the nine finalists (three per company size category) as selected by voters. The panel will select one winner from each of the three company size categories as well as the Best in Show winner. Judging is based on content and storytelling, production quality, and alignment with the participating company’s overall corporate citizenship objectives.

WINNERS—Winners will be honored as part of a formal ceremony at the 2020 International Corporate Citizenship Conference on March 30 in San Francisco, CA. Finalists must be present to win.
