June 19, 2025, marks the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth — the day Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that all enslaved people were free. Although the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued more than two years earlier, this moment marked a meaningful step toward freedom and is remembered as a turning point in American history. Juneteenth has grown into a day of reflection and celebration, honoring the strength, culture, and contributions of Black communities across generations. In 2021, it was officially recognized as a federal holiday. As we recognize this important day, let us take the opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate together. Learn More about 2025 Juneteenth
