About The Center
Advancing Corporate Citizenship
Based in the Carroll School of Management, the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship was founded in 1985, inspired by an early recognition that community expectations of companies were changing. The Center combines the most valuable aspects of a professional community and the resources of a leading academic institution for our members. We integrate the perspectives and experience of some of the leading corporate citizenship professionals in the field today with management best practices, helping you align your corporate citizenship objectives and business goals. Center resources support positive outcomes for your functional area, your organization as a whole, and for you as a leader.
The Center differs from other CSR organizations in four important ways:
- Size – The Center comprises a network of 400 member companies. The Center engages more than 10,000 individuals annually though our programs and events on diverse topics within the field of corporate citizenship.
- Scope – Corporate citizenship is a broad field, encompassing a wide variety of job titles, responsibilities, and issues. Impartial and research-based, the Center helps professionals maximize business and social value through tools and knowledge that help them know more, do more, and achieve more with their environmental, social, and governance investments.
- Services – We offer professional development, access to an online community of peers, regional programs, timely research, best practice updates, issue briefs, and an annual conference addressing the challenges that corporate citizenship professionals face. Member companies receive a dedicated account manager to help leverage the Center’s comprehensive resources and can request custom information to address critical issues.
- Experience – Since 1985, the Center has been a leader in the corporate citizenship field, drawing on the community of professionals, original research, and resources of the Boston College Carroll School of Management.
