State Street Accounts for Stakeholders’ Needs: One in a series of case studies on social reporting

State Street’s recognition of their stakeholders’ focus shifting from its philanthropic activities to how they are affected by the way the company does business is reflected in the evolution of its social reporting from a foundation report into a corporate social responsibility report. This case study looks at the role the report has played in helping State Street establish the groundwork for a more formal corporate citizenship governance system and provides valuable lessons on the steps companies can take to move toward integrating reporting with their overarching business strategies.
